Airshow 2012

For information regarding our club airshow, please click here.

The TMFC air show is a great day out for the entire family. There are a large range of planes, from scale WW1, WW2 and civilian aircraft to high powered jets using real miniature turbines, to aerobatic red bull type planes performing unbelievable manoeuvres - very close to the ground.

Top pilots from across the country travel to the show to fly in the display. There are also many traders who come to the show which offer air show discounts for anyone keen to join the hobby.

Many people bring a deck chair to the show and stay all day. Food and refreshments are available.

Pictures from previous air shows can be seen here.

The air show poster can be downloaded in PDF or JPG format.

Club Information

pic1

Teesside Model Flying Club has been in its existence since 1965 and we are fortunate to have two flying sites, one at Castle Levington just south of Middlesbrough and one at Redmarshall, west of Stockton - on - Tees. We have had the opportunity of buying the land we fly off at Redmarshall, a few years ago, and TMFC are now the proud owners of 14 acres of, what we think, is one of the best flying sites in the UK.

The club is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association (BMFA). The Association provides guidance on safe practices and standards of model flying and organises our insurance cover through Perkins Slade. Further information about the Association and it's work can be found on the BMFA website.

Meetings

On the third Tuesday of the months September to March inclusive, we hold our club meetings at the ICI Synthonia Club, Bellasis Avenue, Billingham. At these meetings, we discuss the welfare of the club and invite guest speakers. The seasons meetings and discussion topics can be found on the events page. Guests are allowed by special invitation only and any person wishing to bring a guest must request this through the chairman.

pic2Training

We have a fleet of club trainers and, during the summer months, Tuesday nights are dedicated to training budding pilots. For further information see the Training page. There are usually people flying on most weekends (weather permitting), so if you want to find out more please feel free to visit either site or again contact anyone listed on the contacts page to make arrangements to meet at the field. Be warned, you will get hooked!
